Affordability calculator
Our affordability calculator determines how much your client can afford to borrow. We assess this using a client's income and expenditure combined with our LTI and LTV policies.

Please note:
- If you have any questions about using the calculator, read our affordability calculator FAQs.
- If you are happy that the calculator confirms the amount requested is affordable, you can submit the application in line with our normal process. Visit our how to apply page for more information.
- Remember to keep a copy of the affordability assessment result for your records. You may find this useful in resolving any future questions.
- Once we receive your client's application, we will repeat the calculation. We may recalculate this if more information is given.
- The application and assessment of affordability is for guidance. It is subject to our wider lending policy. As a result, we may not be able to proceed with the application or provide the requested amount.
- The calculator is also suitable for Help to Buy calculations.
